Hi, Im new around here so forgive me if i sound rookie"ish". Ive searched the web high and low for a mod kit (or a resemblance thereof) for my amps (adcom). When I lived in Colorado Springs I had one modded by a buddy that worked at sunshine audio and it sounds wonderful but I'm in San Antonio now (not a hifi haven). I see places online that offer mods for the 555 and up but not the 545 which is what I have. Also those are the "send us your amp and for $XXXX.xx plus shipping" places and I just want to buy the stuff, fire up my solder/de-solder kit and do it myself. I found a website for a company called partsconnexion that sells all kinds of stuff (kimber, cardas, diodes, blackcaps, etc) but how is a regular guy supposed to know what, which, and how many to buy??? The biggest audio repair shop here tells me that all they do is basic repairs with generic parts and the tech tells me he has never done a mod in his life (imagine that!!). Is there anybody that can give me the skinny on this. Any info is appreciated.
