Currently I have to operate the volume pot between 7 and 9 oclock where the responce is less linear. The company has given me some very helpfull info on how to reduce the gain by 6db. I need to add 3 resistors in parallel with certain existing ones.
First of all, is there ANY potential of degrading or altering the current sound characteristics if I proceed with the mod? This thing easily smokes any other solid state pre I have ever owned, including my Audio Research LS3. I do not want to do anything to jeapardize that.Second, if I do go ahead with the mod should I be using high quality resistors and solder for this type of job and can anyone make any suggestions on what type might be suitable?
