Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

Unfortunately, I have a twin fan cooling system built into the walls of my wine cellar located directly below my listening room. As a result, the wood floors under my system (Cary tube amp, preamp and CD player) hums/vibrates. 1) Is this bad for my system and speakers; 2) Will this affect the sound; and 3) Most importantly, how can I compensate for this? I have looked at a number of "solutions" including Isoblocks and Conepoints by Mapleshade and Vibrapods. My system is currently on a relatively heavy (not filled) Lovan rack and the speakers are on a pair of speaker stands (also not filled). Any suggestions will help. Thanks.
