Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

I recently built a diyumas platform for my CD player using drawer pulls. I assumed that you should use four of them, one in each corner. However in going to the Dumas website I notice that they are sold in 3's instead of 4's. How are members here doing this? Any advantage to using more rather than less or vice versa. It occurred to me that using more(6 or 8) might reduce the weight on each individual bearing making each more sensitive and consequently more effective. I have tried 1/2 inch marbles and 1/4 inch metal bearings. The bearings seemed to have less friction and move easier when subjected to vibrations. I also used a little motor oil on them to reduce friction. It appears to help. Smaller bearing better than bigger? Less contact area and less friction?
