I have just built a passive, transformer based Mid-Side matrix similar
to the one on the Jensen transformer website.
http://www.jensen-transformers.com/as/as065.pdfNow this is gonna sound really stooopid, but.......
There are nearly ten different points that are tied to the chassis
ground, but where the heck does the chassis ground lead to? Powered
gear uses the 3rd wire to carry the ground, but this gear doesn't have
any power cord. This equipment is for portable, "on-location" use. Am I supposed to
carry around a copper stake and a sledgehammer and drive a ground rod
wherever I set up my rig? I'm guessing that it would be against some
rule to connect the chassis ground to the power cord ground on a
nearby piece of powered equipment? What do other people do with passive components?
thanks
