In-floor bass traps - any experience?

I am in the design stage of building a listening room/music studio. This will need to be as soundproof as possible and good acoustically. It will be a purpose built, seperate structure and I am considering using the ASC products. The late Ann Turner had an article in the Absolute Sound that described her listening room as having a "concrete floor with an eight foot square bass trap inset filled with Tectum, covered with felt and area rug."
Has anybody had any experience with an in-floor bass trap? I'm thinking my room will be 17ft X 23ft X 12ft ceiling. Also, I'd be happy to have any advice on a checklist re: wiring, construction, etc. TIA
