I found an alternative construction in a description of the system on Audio Club of Athens web site (www.aca.com). Look for a new system ("Chris Tube Heaven") with Ariels.
He is making them from fiberglass pipe covering which you can get as cylinders in many different sizes (try http://ic.net/~jtgale/diy2.htm). This looks a lot easier than the version on Jon Risch's website.
Will these be as efficient?
