Hi Hifinut,
It would be a 47 position Shallco shunt attenuator, obtainable from our sponser Michael Percy.
I use 1.5 dB steps excepts for a few last settings(all the way up)
The shunt attenuator has only one resistor in series with the audiosignal and only one resistor to ground instead of a string of 40 at a low setting.
