I'm going to get the Cardas Spades for terminal strips (My office amp is a 1962 McIntosh MC240) from Michael Percy Audio. I'd like to use Cardas Twinlink speaker cable if I could, but I know it's a pain to terminate.Does anyone have any experience terminating Cardas cable? I know it takes about 800F degrees to remove the Litz coating. Do I need a solder pot to do this right, or can it be done with soldering iron (completely removing the coating and not burning myself in the process)?
Or am I better off just getting Kimber 4PR and saving myself the money? I worry about unshielded cable in the same room as my computer and a half dozen other electrical devices - but that's another post.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
