Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

Jon, while waiting for my fiber glass panel to arrive for DIY panels, I did some experiment with the backwall (behind the listener position). This is what I went thru:1. If I put a Cotton blanket covering from the floor to about 7ft, the room sound dead. I do not like it at all.
2. However if I put in the Satin blanket, it made quite improvement in the sound stage. The stage now is wider, instruments are more detailed, focus and separation. The vocal now is not very harsh as I turn up the volume. Before I intend to made some DIY roomlens as a diffusor in the backwall, but after this experiment, I felt that the roomlens may not work in this case. What do you suggest? Do I need a absorbing panel or the diffusor panel in this case? Or using the roomlens for diffusor will be OK too???
I probably have some fiber glass panels leftover after building your DIY panels for my sidewalls. Can I use just this panel...to do something for my backwall. Thanks
