Herbie's Cone/Spike Decoupling Gliders

I have always spiked my loudspeakers into the carpeted over concrete slab floor of my listening room. After acquiring new speakers this summer (Vandersteen Treo CT) I ran across a discussion thread on another forum about coupling versus decoupling speakers. After considerable reading, I decided to email with Robert Herbelin of Herbie's Audio Lab (a tweaker's haven). He convinced me to try decoupling. I went with the Titanium Cone/Spike Decoupling Gliders. It's amazing how much clearer and cleaner the sound is with the speakers decoupled from the floor. Even on solo violin, not just material with lots of bass. Anyone try this? Please share your experiences.
