They are among the sweetest sounding amps around" My contention is that bigger is often if not exactly 100% always better for many situations. In reference to the comment about the sweet SE amps specifically I would contend that a bigger tranny with the same voltage and larger cap bank and fatter internal wires would improve the sound of that particular amp as long as it was done in a way that would not cause some other problem. Blow diodes, whatever. A bigger tranny with fatter wires... I stand by the principle of bigger tranny and larger cap bank. This as a general not stupidly simplistic statement in regards to this particular issue. Tweaker
