I'm guessing these are a variation of the same circuit.
I had the HDL's quite a while ago but sold them off with the rest of the system. Made a noticeable and positive difference -- not earth shattering by any means, but an incremental improvement to a pretty high resolution system. Picked up the Spatials a few months ago, and they make a noticeable difference too, even though my current system is far less accomplished than my previous one. Obviously can't make any direct comparison between the Spatials and HDL's, but the price on the Spatials is certainly more amenable to my retirement-around-the-corner audio budget. :)
