Re-designing the crossover is certainly possible. But if you wanted to go that far, then consider possible driver replacement as well. If you went that way you might as well buy new speakers.
As an alternative you could replace the capacitor(s) and resistor(s) in the existing crossover. Reasonable prices for caps can be had at Parts Express or Meniscus. Solen, Audyne, or some Clarity caps are worth considering. Resistors should be at least 10W and non-inductive. I prefer Lynx or Mills resistors. I'd avoid the sand cast types.
