Well as to the OPA2107 I was relying on it to cream the OPA2604 but alas I find myself disappointed. At first on one recording I found the 2107 very fast clear with great dynamic range but possible somewhat thin and slightly artificial sounding. When I went to my main comparison song I found cymbals significantly thinner and artificial sounding on the 2107, it possible had better focus than the 2604 but so what. One can possible make a case that the 2604 is excessively full in the lower mids but all in all the musicality and intimacy was missing from the 2107. Compared to the 5532 I found that sometimes cymbals were a little thin when the stick hit them on the 2604 than on the 5532 otherwise the 2604 made the 5532 sound like a toy. Cymbals in general, not just the stick hitting sound were much thinner and artificial on the 2107. Out it goes.
