I tried the LME49860, very similar if not the exact same as the 49720. Hated it. Took it right out and put in a TLO72 I had around since I destroyed the 2607 I had in there. The 49860 is very clear , fast, very wide sound stage and very unnatural, sterile and clinical sounding. I will not try another bipolar device after hearing that. The background hiss on cd's was very irritating. Even the lowly TLO72 was a relief. So many people like this kind of super fast clear sound but I'm going for what is to me a warmer more relaxing and musical presentation. Some folks out there seem to have WOW moments with the Difets. That's where I'll be going soon. T
