I agree, Awe-d-o-file. Typical 8" woofers tend to perform poorly for a 2-way loudspeaker design, since midrange beaming occurs well below that of a typical 2-way crossover point. It's a substantial trade-off to use an 8" woofer if an extended or enhanced bottom end is desired, since a 6.5" midwoofer is better suited for a 2-way, and if the loudspeaker system is properly designed can produce substantial bass along with well-behaved upper midrange characteristics.
