Various size carbon fiber discs/pucks available on eBay work very well when positioned under a bamboo platform. I find the key to making them perform well is to affix a Herbie's Audio Lab Thin grungebuster Dot both above and below a set of four carbon fiber discs, or as an alternative, permanently adhere the four carbon fiber discs to the bottom of the bamboo board, with a Herbie's Audio Lab Thin grungebuster Dot affixed to the bottom of the discs. Either way, just a little bit of well-designed compliance due to the very firm Thin grungebuster Dot goes a long way to enhance the resonance dissipating function of the carbon fiber disc, without notable coloration that may be produced by a higher mass vibration control pad with perhaps too much compliance which tends to produce sonic drawbacks. Less is more in this case.
Conversely, while the various carbon fiber discs found on eBay are available in different sizes at different prices, I find the larger (thicker and larger diameter) products are worth the extra expense, since they do perform audibly better than the smaller discs, perhaps depending on the size of the bamboo board and/or the weight and/or type of audio component applications.
I suggest at least 10mm thick x 30mm diameter for smaller applications, and 10mm thick x 40mm diameter or more for larger applications (quite large 20mm x 50mm products are available). The Herbie's Audio Lab Thin grungebuster Dot should be the same diameter as the disc, and I recommend the black colored Dot which is the firmest option vs. the off-white Dot. The Dot is available with adhesive-backing as an option, and although not inexpensive, the adhesive backing does provide a very thin and precision-applied low-mass layer with excellent holding power.
Note: For this application, I recommend the Thin grungebuster Dot, not the regular grungebuster Dot which is a thicker design.
