Slight hum through speakers that comes and gos

The slight hum is not very loud, you have to actually put your ear up to the speakers to hear it. It comes and goes randomly but, if I unplug the interconnects from the Parasound a23 power amp from the Adcom GFP 565 preamp it goes away every time? It's not loud enough to bother the music or movies but, since it comes and goes even with the interconnects plugged in, I've been wondering if it could be a line voltage problem? The input sources are Dish satellite receiver and DVD player. Any suggestions or tips on how to isolate the problem would be greatly appreciated Thanks!
