Maybe try the 3M brand of velcro/fastener strips. They make a heavy duty version and a more traditional version. I used them to hang acoustic panels on a painted brick wall. I have not tried to remove them yet..not sure how much paint may or will be removed as a result. Definitely don't use them on drywall as these fastener strips will take off the paint and a layer or two of the drywall top cover.
