Higher voltages=brighter sound.
With larger capacitance, amperage of battery is not that great a factor, when coupled with larger capacitance (50KuF for analog, 100K uF for video/digital). Try shorting the cap bank using only a 9V v battery: you'd be shocked ( literally). A larger battery should charge up the cap bank faster however. I use 9 Volt batteries, cause they are commonplace and relatively compact
Large small voltage caps are cheap (relatively) and you can place it in a smaller container making the implementation more user friendly. The picture in the thread below has 100,000 uF of caps inside, plus the bypass
Bypass cap selection as discussed prior depends on the application. Smaller film caps work better on video/digital because their operating frequencies are higher.
Analog applications can use a larger bypass cap and I prefer to use a coupling cap which I like.
The bypasses are critical but are also used to adjust tonality, so feel free to experiment.
