Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

I did the BGT tweak back in 2010 or 2011 when it was just a 9V w/o caps. I also tried 6 AA's in a holder not a 9V battery. Not much result. The ground loop on the speaker terminal tweak yielded much better result.
I'm going to try it again w/caps. So my questions are:
1) using 6 AA's in a holder is fine right? I don't have any 9V's
2) It seems there might be an advantage to charging the caps rather than them just draining power from the battery set up. Yes? No?
3) I'm going to do the CDP/Transport and DAC since my linestage is passive AND all the unused (unselected) RCA's grounds are not connected. The Placette input selector lifts all unused RCA hots AND grounds.
4) Stu recommends a polyprop bypass which I don't have now. I have small Russian PIO .1's I could use.....thoughts?
5) Has battery strength been discussed? Strong , average or weak make a diff?
My sense is I should try 50K (47K) and 100K uf and listen for myself unless anyone thinks otherwise.
Thanks in advance
