An fascinating book, especially for piano lovers (I'm not one, but still found it absolutely fascinating), the author Perri searches years to find that right piano and once home it literally has deteriorated. This is the story of her search and then her attempt to understand the mechanics of the instrument.

She is constant search for the soul of the instrument that caused her to buy the instrument, and when the magic disappears, her attempts to regain that sound.

If I dare say, many tweakers are in a similar position, but the way she goes about it is fascinating: learning now to tune, and investigating all the little tidbits which make the sound of the instrument

For those who say tweaking is useless, her experience is heartening....
