There are some sound theoretical reasons why you might have been better off with cinder blocks, especially if the lower wooden platform shown in the photo is hollow inside. But if you prefer the wood structures to the cinder blocks, that's what counts. Try also separating the two Siamesed leads to each speaker, all the way back to the amplifier.
