The issue with hard footers or cones, wood or brass, is that while they may limit the amount of vibration flowing up into the component,any vibration they may drain into your shelf can just as easily flow back up into the component, unless you have a fancy vibration damping shelf.
I recommend trying Herbies tender feet. The proprietary dual compound material, not just rubber, absorbs and blocks vibrations traveling in both directions.
I believe Herbies' philosophy is that once the vibrations drain into the shelf, it does not stay there, it can come back up. Airbourne and component bourne vibrations are damped and absorbed by the squishy feet. worth a try at least.
