Seriously, the term locking-barrel rca connector is a misnomer, since the purpose of an adjustable barrel is simply to provide a gently-better interface between typically irregular sized rca jack ground shrouds and rca connector ground contacts rather than forcefully locking an rca connector onto an rca jack. In fact, it's often reported that forcefully tightening a locking-barrel rca connector onto an rca jack tends to produce a leaner, more restricted sounding sonic signature than if tightened just enough for the barrel not to wiggle after the rca connector body is plugged into an rca jack.
