You can never know until you try. Just reversing the direction of spikes, for example, brings different results. Combining different isolation measure - as simple as one type of elastomer with another - gives different results (Herbie doesn't like you mixing his with others). Combining isolation and coupling in different places and directions also gives different results.
If it were one simple answer we'd all have discovered that years ago!
All my systems use different combinations of isolation and coupling in different places for different purposes. I know of some of the inmates who NEVER stop fooling around with this!
Best advice I can give is to try out such things on the cheap to get an idea of what might work for you before investing in the expensive commercial versions. If you can DIY at all (or shop wisely) you'll be less disappointed in the end, I surmise..... YMMV
