The case is not as slick as I originally intended, but much more practical actually. No on/off switch yet, nor power LED, but the DAC lights up anyway.
NOW, I am much more attuned to transformers than before, as another element to tweak.
Like I said, I am just flabbergasted how big a difference that the transformer made, more so than the particular regulator board used, as I settled on what I think is a well implemented power supply.
The idea of having an AC wall-wart, with AC output, I think, is a very good idea for some of the lower cost electronics.
(Ignore the shiny plexiglass but I did use it as a spacer.)
