RE: Multi-layered, Adhesive-backed Felt Surrounds for Cone-Speakers

Tim,

To get the different circumferences, I take a circular container of the required smallest start diameter of the speaker to place on the white back of the felt surround to be marked/ trimmed and separately cut a strip of adhesive felt, the first layer of which to wrap around a ballpoint pen for marking that white adhesive backing sheet of the felt-surround beneath. Then I place the vertical ballpoint pen against the side of the container to draw the circumference; to get larger and larger circumferences, just wrap more adhesive layers of the felt strip around the ballpoint pen before marking the circle.

Glad that you can use the information. Tweaks are often stimulating departure points rather than destinations given that we all have difference systems and preferences.

Please post a picture of the finished project.

With best wishes,

DG
