It's refreshing to find a post that uses Common Sense, Uncle Stu!
I've never posted here before-- I'm enjoying several posts and finding some really good info that I will put to good use as well.
Energy conservation is a really big deal. If one learns to think in this mode, he will learn how to use all of the energy that is present in a device or situation, and direct it into productive paths, rather than try to deaden it-- or outlaw it..
There are many forms of energy all around us-- on and in everything.
There are people who want to make life into an anechoic chamber, but then there are others of us who want to use all of the energies that are present.
Some want to remove diving boards from swimming pools and post SWAT teams there, but others of us want MORE and BETTER DIVING BOARDS!
Life gets livelier, more colorful, more enjoyable with the latter approach. If one approaches the design of audio components, and of listening room challenges in this way-- instead of trying desperately to "filter" and/or "control-out" everything that might possibly be construed as offensive, he can find ways to live comfortably, happily and have outstanding musical reproduction all at the same time-- with less energy wasted!
Thanks for a good, refreshing post. Bravo!
