Do brass screws conduct electricity? If so, they have a magnetic field. And VICE- VERSA.
Some very hard engineering plastic might be better if you are concerned with magnetic effects. That is, if you can find such a material which will sustain the torque without sheer.
A good SMALL torque wrench would be advisible in this case.
