I found references on some forums from other owners talking about shootouts and repairs on the A23 where people refer to the power supply as having 48,000mfd caps in it which indicates others seem to believe they have something other than what it is.
And then from page 17 of the owners manual for the A23 there is this.
"To create the +/- 55 Vdc B+ and B- supply rails for each
channel, we use high-speed rectifier diodes and four
enormous 12,000 uF Elna electrolytic filter capacitors"
More than likely it's a matter of not updating the spec in the manual. It is disconcerting though on what to believe on the rest of the specs. Not that it makes a lot of difference to me as I'm getting fond of the amps sound. But still! I tried calling the Parasound repair depot this morning to talk to them about it but it must not be open yet. I'll keep trying. I also asked the dealer if he could get me a schematic. He said he'd try but he had his doubts.
