RE: In wall power and surge protection

VH Audio does a 10/2 Cryoed Romex but perhaps local regulations will not allow its use and will want BX or EMT.

You say you are running it from the Meter Box, If by this you mean the terminals on the bottom of the meter I'm not sure the National Electrical code permits this. Also the Power Supply Company may take a dim view of you having spare connections in the Meter Pan. Usually the requirements are a cable of sufficient size to feed your main panel goes to an Isolation Device that will turn off the house supply in 1 throw then on to the fuses/breakers for each individual circuit and this is where the Surge protector will be. Then from an individual fuse/breaker you can run a 10/2 cryoed branch circuit or more for your equipment.

I have been retired since 2008 so I'm am no longer up to date with the National Code and certainly do not know what your local requirements are but what I have laid out will be the minimum requirements.

Ask around your friends and see if they can recommend an electrician, not a handyman but someone with full knowledge of the appropriate codes and rules.

I hope this does not discourage you, it's just meant to guide you in the right direction.
