Wire it to whatever the code is in your state.
Personally, I find the notion that AC mains cabling has a major impact on sound to be laughable - with a couple exceptions:
1) The gauge of the wire and length of the run are such that significant voltage drop occurs under load
2) The power supply of the amplifier has insufficient reserves of energy
As long as the voltage isn't sagging much, and the power supply has decent reserves, I can't think of any other *measurable* reasons to worry about the cable type - unless it's picking up RF from something. But guess what - That RF is entering your electrical system from many other places, including but not limited to the wires connecting your house to the pole. Funny how nobody ever talks about upgrading those. Or the pole pig for that matter.
