For those of you that use pro gold...

do YOU leave it on the connection, and leave it slippery with a little on the surface, or use a wax on wax off approach, where you leave it on for a minute, and then buff off all the excess?

It seems leaving any on the surface actually degrades the sound IMHO. Everything became holographic, but also lost solidity. I wiped all of it off, but still think that it's like car wax, you wipe it on, then off, but it still leaves it's shine and protection.

What do you guys do?
