Actually.......

...it is an Audio Magic "Pulse Gen Zx". They cost around $440 each new, or at least that's what I recall.

Yes, they do work. Dan Wright and Ric Schultz, as I recall, swear by these.

I personally have a bunch installed (got them at WELL below wholesale, so I stocked up.) The first install was done with a switch to discern if it really worked or not. They do, and quite well.

Jerry at Audio Magic told me that they take 3 days to reach their full potential, and they MUST be wired in such that they are left on 24/7/365 (i.e., before the switch.)

In case you are wondering if it is on, Jerry says just feel the exterior plastic case to see if it is warm to the touch. It should be, and I have verified this myself, and it does get warm in about 20 minutes, and then remains warm. None have ever failed to my knowledge.

So, if it feels cold after being on a while, it may not be working, and I'd call Jerry. He's so sweet, he'd probably honor warranty and send you a new one. He's that nice a guy. (Well, at least he was.)

Green is neutral, black is hot. Mount using velcro strips on the bottom (originally supplied, but now likely gone) and point the top of the Pulse Gen unit (i.e., the largest flat side with the perimeter vent holes nearest it, and NO chassis screw holes; the chassis screw holes indicate the bottom side, and that is the side is for mounting the Pulse Gen unit) facing outward in the direction of the power supply, especially trafos and power supply caps (but the big power trafos are the best to take aim at, again, according to Jerry.)

Remember, the top was the label side originally, and for the unit to be used correctly, the top must face outward towards the PSU, and again, the top side is noted by the air holes being closest to that side and the lack of chassis screw holes (as I am sure the label has fallen off, or why you would write a post and ask?) Leave room for air circulation, as much as possible, and do NOT block those air holes, or it can over-heat internally.

Hope this helps.

Have fun!

Cheers,

WS
