DG, I (think I) solved outlet box resonance by taping a cardboard retainer (with central shaping, and cuts to allow bending by pressure from stiff mains wire as it is pushed/screwed into place) across the lower half of the outlet box, and semi filling with sand. I largely screwed the face plate into position, but left enough top space for a flexy tube attached to a funel, so I could distribute/stack sand as required.
