Not sure what you are going to replace a crystal with that would be more stable than a crystal but...Any decent SMT solder station will have a set of hot tweezers. Use them to grab the resistor and just lift it off the board when the solder melts.
Short of that using and SMT soldering iron you can heat one side then the other and keep moving back and forth until it pops loose.
