RE: Removing Redundant Internal Speakers from Flat-Screen located between/ behind Two Floor Speakers

Awe-d-o-file,

Yes, indeed, a substantial sound improvement from removing the distortion caused by the unused, installed spare speaker is exactly what I am saying. And that improvement increased again after I had later removed that UNinstalled sound panel and a heavy-duty, unused radio/CD player from a bedroom to a distant external storage area.

The two circuit boards and the stereo panel are fixed to the backside of the display onto which the thin aluminum back-case cover is then screwed so, yes, my Samsung stereo sound panel is fired backwards too. I had physically disconnected the stereo sound panel from its connector to the left circuit board but that made no difference to the sound quality of music or TV/ video from the two channel audio of my system. The distance of this installed Samsung internal stereo sound panel from each floor speaker was five feet so I wondered whether complete removal of this thin little spare speaker would make any difference. Well, it was easy to effect and I was very pleasantly surprised by the resulting decrease in distortion - increased small detail, more analog sound, less listening fatigue.

You will have no difficulty seeing what needs to be done when you have unscrewed the back. Trace the wire from the stereo sound panel on the right to the circuit board on the left and squeeze-release its connector from the junction box. Temporarily lift the pieces of tape that hold the connecting wire down with others in order to completely release it. Then grip the installed stereo sound panel (whose connecting wire you have just freed) with your fingers and lift it straight out without unscrewing a thing. It's as simple as that!

It's difficult to predict what level of improvement you will experience. It may be comparable or larger because the installed sound panel is only perhaps 18"-24" from the Soundbar with whose performance it is interfering. Hope this response addresses all your concerns. Good luck!

DG
