I have posted here quite a bit about solder, the different alloys, and the flux used, etc.
Use the Asylum search engine, put my name in, Jon Risch, for the "authored by" portion, and use the "keyword" solder.
I recommend Kester 63/37, with the 44 flux, and this is a very good solder for beginners or folks not wanting to pay a lot fore a good grade of solder for audio work.
Other specialty solders which usually cost a LOT more, are also very good and effective.
Cardas Quad eutectic, WBT, Wonder solder, etc.
I do recommend that if you do not solder that much, to practice with some cheap 60/40, using scrap parts or a resistor assortment package from RS, or some cheap coax and plugs if geting ready to solder DIY cables.
Be sure to use enough heat, and flow the solder onto the part/wire, not the soldering iron tip.
