Since everything in one's listening room has the potential to contribute to the net character of the room, it never did surprise me a bit that these devices would do something. So, you definitely are not crazy. I have noticed that brass fireplace tools that stand between my speakers have a large and beneficial effect, and moving them around changes the character of the sound quite noticeably. My only reservation re the Synergistic products is their relatively tiny size and mass; I'd have thought that you need more of both to perceptibly affect the sonic character.
