My venerable Shure IEMs need a new jack plug. The problem is that the signal cables are absolutely tiny with a few hair-like copper strands bundled with fibre inside. It's nearly impossible for me to strip without breaking the few copper hairs within. I tried the cat5 cable stripping approach of flaming the cable end but this just left charred gunk. Has anyone been successful at trying this?
