What type are you using and why?
The reason I ask is because I've tried ametrine, aventurine, onyx, quartz, topaz, and tourmaline. Out of the bunch, the quartz and tourmaline seemed to come the closest to a genuine improvement but still at the expense of losing some high frequency energy although the sound stage did show some benefit.
