Magic eye volume indicator in amp case-noisy???

I am rebuilding./modifying a Dyna SCA35 (with ST35 boards and EFB power supply). One of the fru-fru, utterly vain (sp?) tweaks I'd like to add is a pair of front-panel volume indicators. I ould go with conventional or magic eye, though my preference, as one might expect with the truly vain, is the latter.

Using them would entail mounting two magic eye indicator tubes, the driver circuits (all this stuff is available quite cheaply through one of the ebay DIY stores). a tranformer (with both 230v and 6-6.3v feeds) and, as I'm not really clear on whether it's needed or not, POSSIBLY a simple rectification circuit.

Has anyone done this? Someone must have at least tried. Again, everything associated with the magic eye circuit needs to go IN THE AMP CASE. I have some concern that this will add noise to the amp. This was expressed to me by several people, although none have been able to tell me that this equiptment will or wont do it.

Can anyone te;ll me if it's likely to be noisy, and, if so, if it can be shielded/buffered/whatever so as to be functional without ruining what I know from experiance to be a very nice sounding, clean amplifier????????
