Anecdotal "evidence" is what I'm trying to get away from.

I've assembled many electronic kits and dozens of loudspeaker crossovers and never experienced any audible effects due to orientation of resistors. Does Ohm's Law behave differently depending on directionality?I've never seen any articles claiming directional differences in resistors, other than anecdotal claims such as yours. All reasonable evidence points to this as being just another audio myth.
