In Reply to: DIY Room Lenses and how do the sound react to different speakers based on their designs?? posted by Jose Garcia on August 16, 2000 at 19:06:42:
I have a pair of Acoustat 2+2's which seem to prefer a different position than for more conventional dynamic speakers. My lenses are of the Weaver design recipe using Risch dimensions. Upon viewing a Magnepan user's arrangement where the lenses are placed directly behind the panels, I tried that approach in addition to the more prevalent side presence.http://www.geocities.com/chapin_m/panstand/panstand.html
As my panels are rather directional, the position at the sides of the panels had little effect. I found that positioning them about two feet directly behind the panels is most effective at minimizing secondary indirect reflections. The speakers are about six feet out from the back wall.
