It might in fact be "normal" for a cheap player to be hyper-sensitive. No internal isolation of the transport from vibration, extremely limited digital error correction, etc.
Cheap solution 1: "Float" the player on a partially inflated bicycle innertube, hot water bottle, etc.
Cheap solution 2: apply asphalt or vinyl vibration damping pads (from Parts Express or local car stereo shop) to bottom of chassis and top of case, leaving any air vents uncovered.
The combination of these tweaks should significantly reduce the player's sensitivity to airborne and cabinet-borne vibrations.
Of course, if you're actually using 30" woofers (!) in your house, you may have some serious vibrations to isolate from!
