I waited many years before buying a "high-end" rack, believing I could DIY as good as any manufactured, over hyped product. Eventually I assembled a rack I thought was pretty good, a complex structure of maple slabs, 3M 2552 damping material, bicycle innertubes, Sorbothane, and Herbie's Grungebuster. Then, based upon some kind of intuition, and an ad in Audiogon, I ordered the parts to build a "45" series rack from Adona. It was a fortunate choice, as it has allowed me to enjoy music with an intimacy and comprehension that, for medical reasons which keep me pretty much homebound, I haven't experienced since the days when I haunted jazz clubs and symphony halls. I am more than pleased,I am genuinely astounded.
Also, my Adona "45" DIY rack has allowed me to discover what marvelous components I actually have.
