Belt & suspenders -- soldering solderless RCA connectors?

For the first time I obtained some solderless RCA connectors ("pin jacks") to brew up some interconnects. I REALLY like the idea of being able to screw down on the signal conductor; in my mind it makes for a much more positive and reliable connection than solder only.

However, at the same time it strikes me as possible that the screw could loosen over time, and furthermore it seems that there might be some potential for oxidation to occur at the conductor interface. My gut feeling is that I should screw the conductor down firmly and then solder it as well.

Do any of you have opinions on this one way or the other? I'd like to get the benefit of your insights before I actually build my interconnects.
