I thought I'd report on what I found. The first thing to note is that S102's aren't carried by many places, and if they are, they may not have a wide range of values. Sonic Craft has the best price at $6.95, but their selection is limited. Michael Percy has a full variety, but prices start at $11.95.I discovered you can get 1% tolerance TX2352 "naked Vishays" directly from Texas Components for $6.95. These are better than S102's.
Price comparisons:
S102K (1%) 220R (.6W) $12.42 @ Texas Components
S102K (1%) 220R (.6W) $11.95 @ Percy
TX2352 (1%) 220R (.6W) $6.95 @ Texas Components
TX2575 (1%) 220R (.6W) $9.40 @ Texas ComponentsS102K (1%) 47K (.6W) $14.90 @ Texas Components
S102K (1%) 47K (.6W) $13.95 @ Percy
TX2352 (1%) 47K (.6W) $8.34 @ Texas Components
TX2575 (1%) 47K (.6W) $11.28 @ Texas ComponentsBottom line, the TX2352 is probably the best price-to-performance resistor you can buy.
